Future Learning Theatre (Curated by EdCity)
Overview
This seminar introduces a cross-disciplinary STEAM education practice for fifth-grade elementary students, implementing problem-based Learning strategies through Microsoft's MakeCode programming platform in an "A.I. Chameleon" STEAM classroom. This instructional design integrates prior knowledge from multiple disciplines, enabling students to engage in creative projects through cross-disciplinary applications within the Six-step STEAM Pedagogy proposed by Professor Kong from The Education University of Hong Kong. Practical experience demonstrates that this cross-disciplinary STEAM education approach not only enhances students' learning motivation but also cultivates innovative thinking through inquiry-based learning. Additionally, the curriculum design emphasizes the development of AI Literacy, effectively increasing students' interest in programming while achieving positive outcomes in developing both Computational Thinking and Design Thinking skills.
