The Transmission of Traditional Chinese Culture in School Education: A Case Study of Shadow Play

Overview

This seminar will introduce the concept of integrating traditional shadow play with modern technology in school education. The presentation will share the feasibility of incorporating Chinese traditional culture into modern education through various approaches, such as intergenerational integration (Elder Academy), subject curricula (Chinese Language, Design and Technology, Information and Communication Technology, Visual Arts), and student participation (scriptwriting and performances). This aims to demonstrate that embedding traditional art and culture into school curricula or activities can effectively enhance the education and dissemination of Chinese traditional culture.
