From Classroom to Community: The Educational Path to Nurturing Tomorrow's Leaders

Student Empowerment Theatre (Curated by EdCity)

Overview

The upcoming seminar, titled ‘From Classroom to Community: The Educational Path to Nurturing Tomorrow's Leaders’, will share the ‘Leaders of Tomorrow’ (LOT) program developed by our school and led by myself. This programme combines experiential learning and personal growth education to cultivate students' leadership skills through three progressive stages:

1. Stage One: Developing basic leadership skills through camps and workshops;
2. Stage Two: Applying learned skills within the school by leading student-organised activities; and
3. Stage Three: Extending leadership into the community by organising volunteer services, fostering creativity and enhancing social responsibility.

The programme integrates the four core competencies of the 21st century: Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, and Critical Thinking. The speaker team employs teaching methods such as gamification and immersive learning, based on Flow Theory and Self-Determination Theory, significantly enhancing students' engagement and intrinsic motivation.

The seminar will demonstrate how we implement these theories to transform students from passive learners into proactive leaders who serve the community.
