Overview
This workshop introduces an innovative, learner-centered pedagogy using the GAVIS mobile and VR app-developed under the QEF eLAFP project-to enhance teaching and assessment of HKDSE English group discussions. The app leverages AI-powered feedback to support students’ pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary, and interactive skills, fostering self-directed learning and intercultural communication competence through a Global-Englishes informed curriculum.
Participants will explore the app’s technical features and pedagogical foundations, gaining practical insights into integrating AI technology within the HKDSE curriculum. The hands-on session allows attendees to engage with VR simulations, practice group discussions, and receive real-time feedback, while collaboratively discussing effective implementation strategies.
